Your Calm In A Chaotic World: Founder’s Note

A letter from the founder. On design, health and the belief that wellness should be seen in every part of a life.

A letter from the founder. On design, health and the belief that wellness should be seen in every part of a life.

As a designer, you tend to feel a space through the way it looks. You walk into a room and, before anyone has said a word, the light, the height of the ceiling and the fabric on the chair have already told you something. You know quite quickly whether you want to stay.

I’ve always experienced the world like this, which is probably why wellness has never meant just nutrition, supplements and movement to me. Those things matter. But they’re only part of it. It’s also in the environments I spend time in, the fabrics I choose to wear and the products I put on my skin.

My health has played a part in this too. I was diagnosed with PCOS growing up, then coeliac disease, and then type 1 diabetes when I had my first daughter. I had never put health at the forefront of my life, but I had to become more aware of it.

Then, during Covid, I was spending a lot of time at home and noticed how much its design was affecting my mental and physical health. I wanted design to mean more than aesthetics.

As I was prioritising my physical and mental health, I found a passion for bringing design and wellbeing together. I did that through live wellness events and experiences, which I planned carefully, with the environment being as important as the practice itself.

They were gaining a lot of traction. But the experience ended when people left the room, and I wanted to offer something that lasted beyond a moment. That is where the idea of an all-encompassing wellness destination was born.

There is a lot of noise in the wellness space. Wellness Seen is your eyes on the very best of brands, places and experiences in modern wellbeing.

Here you’ll find nutrition, health and fitness alongside fashion, beauty, travel, art and interior design. This isn’t a medical resource. It’s a place to discover what is worth knowing in every category of your life.

The events continue as the live version of what you read here, because I don’t think anything replaces human connection.

My hope is that, over time, this becomes the first place you look.

Thank you for being here.
